Ranajit is the founding member and CEO of AGAMI LNC with a long research background in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Distributed System Integration and Development of Embedded Systems. He worked in research and teaching positions in various Universities namely Indian Institute of Science (India), Jadavpur University (India), Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan), University of Electro-Communications (Japan) as well as in other Industry and Research Institutes. He was in charge of different research and development projects funded by organizations like Japan Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS), Japan Chemical Innovation Institute (JCII), Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and New Energy and Industrial Development Organization (NEDO).

The system integrates PC and mobiles based front ends, multiple NFC reader terminals, payment systems and cloud based system management and monitoring interfaces. The system sends mails to registered parents' accounts when their kids touch registered FeliCa (NFC) cards on the terminals installed throughout the city.

We developed on-demand video streaming systems for multiple business entities. This included video upload and management interface for the service administrators, the user-end viewing interfaces and the server end management and optimization of video contents for different viewing platforms.

This project involved the development of a basic pet robot platform of shape a panda. It is capable of autonomous mobility with four legs. It is capable of basic voice command recognition and user's face recognition and facial expression recognition and shows different reactions to those perceptions. A special aspects of the development was to use the platform for customized personal installation. Which allows the user to select the desired personality of the robot pet which changes the reactions to the perception inputs and environments.

The project was a part of development of a fully autonomous industrial drone. Our part involved stereo vision processing for navigation of the drone. The depth map of the stereo data was used for model fitting and environment structure recognition followed by computation of an appropriate flight path in real time to move towards its destination while avoiding the obstacles.

The major research scope of this project was to develop a generic control algorithm for automation of tower crane operation. The automatic operation needed to reduce the sway of the load while following an optimal load trajectory to reach the desired destination position within centimeter level accuracy within minimal possible time. The algorithm was tested for a cable length of more than 100m and was mentioned as the "industry first" to achieve such performance. The system development involved complete development of Sensor systems, Networking, Embedded systems, Controller algorithm, Operation interface, Cloud based data accumulation and Remote administration interface with feature of real time monitoring of the crane status.

We developed a generic framework for operation of heavy machinery from remotely located operation panel. The development involves near real time exchange of operator commands and crane status between the two remotely located systems. The system also provides registration and custom integration of multiple camera modules on the crane site for safety check and monitoring on the operator end. As a use case, the framework is installed for remote operation of a tower crane and currently under final stage of integration and performance testing.

Traditionally, the robotics industry has focused on building monolithic robots which are designed to a specific list of tasks. This approach prevented adaptability and feature scalability of robots for a long time. To make the robots more flexible to grow and adapt to the task and environments, it is necessary to move from Robot Making to Module Making. We have developed and embodied the protocols, hardware and software required to realize remote operable plug-and-play robot modules, which allows on-demand assembly of modules to manifest a wide variety of on-demand shape, size and features while the remote operation interface also responsively adapts and reflects the current state of the robot and allow seamless interactions with appropriate interfaces.
